Ingredients
- 3 glasses of vegetable oil, for shallow frying
- 2 pieces of halloumi, cutting stick
- 1 tablespoon of spice mix, (za’atar)
- 1 glass of flour
- 1 tablespoon of pomegranate molasses (optional)
- 1 tea glass of pomegranate seeds (100g)
- 1 handful of fresh mint, chopped

Spice Mix (Za’atar)
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon roasted sesame
- 1 tablespoon sumac
- 1/2 tablespoon rock salt or sea salt
Beetroot Sauce
- 1 glass of beets, cooked (400 gr)
- 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons of strained yogurt
- 1 clove of garlic , crushed
- 1 pinch of cumin
- fresh mint, chopped
Fried Halloumi Cheese Recipe Preparation
Add all the ingredients of the beetroot dip sauce to the rondo and leave it to be lumpy and rest in the fridge. Rinse the halloumi with plenty of water, dry it, cut into potato slices. Add flour and spices in a bowl, mix by hand.
Fried Halloumi Cheese Recipe Preparation
Heat the oil in a large pan. First, mix the halloumi with this floured spice and shake off the excess, fry the halloumi in oil until all sides are golden.
Service
Put the fried halloumi on a serving plate, if you wish, sprinkle it with pomegranate molasses syrup and pomegranate seeds and fresh mint, and serve hot with cold beet dip sauce.
